About this Program

The 51Ç鱨վ Dance Program engages students in a dynamic and transformative process of dance training, fostering curiosity, imagination, versatility and innovation. Through interdisciplinary learning, scholarly research and engagement with local and global communities, students experience dance on many levels helping them to think critically and live creatively as dance artists.

Requirements

What are the requirements to apply for Dance Education at 51Ç鱨վ?
Students entering the Bachelor of Arts program in Dance Education should meet the minimum university admission requirements Undergraduate Admission.
  • To become a Dance major you must audition.ÌýAuditions include a ballet class*, a modern class, hip-hop class and a tour of the facilities. Please register for an audition slot and submit your  to the Dance Program.

    IN-PERSON AUDITIONS In-person auditions will take place on February 15, 2025 from 9AM-12PM.ÌýAll applicants who attend the in-person audition will be considered for a scholarship. For more information, please contact us at the DanceProgram@odu.edu.Ìý ONLINE AUDITIONS To be considered for a scholarship, online auditions must be submitted by March 3, 2025. After that, we accept online submissions on a rolling basis.Ìý

Estimated rates for the 2025-26 academic year. Rates are subject to change. Other fees are assessed for special services and certain academic programs. Anyone that is not a current Virginia resident will be charged non-resident rates. That includes international students.
