Two Holmes Scholars in the Darden College of Education & Professional Studies have been selected as SREB Doctoral Scholars.
Deondre Johnson is a Ph.D. student in Higher Education. Building on his background in public health and wellness, his research explores the connection between student well-being, student success, and the experiences of student athletes, with a focus on creating supports that help them thrive on and off the field.
Clarence Bumpas is a Ph.D. student in Counselor Education and Supervision. His research and advocacy focus on advancing equity in higher education and mental health by amplifying the voices of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ scholars and fostering culturally sustaining support systems.
